    Sim Handbrake Overview

Heusinkveld presents the all new Sim Handbrake powered by SmartControl software - a versatile, high quality handbrake system.

When rallying or drifting, you want full control. The new Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake is a highly adjustable, pressure sensitive USB handbrake using load cell technology. A wide range of options to set your preferred mechanical feel, complete freedom to shape the output curve using Heusinkveld SmartControl.

This strong, stiff and durable Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake is designed for motorsport simulators and can be used in the following driving simulator environments:
    • For professional driver training.
    • For home use (eg. eSports simulators, simracing enthusiasts).
    • In commercial applications (eg. rental simulators).

    Engineering
Designed with CAD and FEA, all structural parts are CNC precision laser cut steel with a bead blasted or fine-structured powder coat finish.

The new Sim Handbrake using Heusinkveld custom made elastomer springs, has a firm and adjustable progressive feel with up to 22kg of force at the lever (120kg load cell).

The main loading on the brake is simulator by compressing the Heusinkveld proprietary elastomers, giving an unprecedented progressive brake feel. A total of 3 elastomers are provided in order to set a soft, medium or stiff handbrake feeling.

A 2-stage spring system provides resistance when pulling the lever. An initial metal coil spring simulates the pad-to-disc gap and/or slack on the handbrake cable. The travel and preload on this spring are adjustable. You can also remove this initial coil spring if you wish to do so.

There are multiple options to mount the Sim Handbrake to your simulator. The lever can be set in a horizontal or vertical position. Per position there is a fine-tune adjustment up to 26 degrees to set the exact position of the lever.

If you use the included optional adapter plate (which allows for easy mounting onto aluminium profiles), you have up to 22,5 degrees of freedom to set the yaw of the handbrake.

The electronics of the handbrake are integrated inside the handbrake base. The system as a whole has passed EMC compliance testing, guaranteeing a stable output signal.

    Powered by Heusinkveld SmartControl software
The Sim Handbrake comes with a powerful configuration tool allowing you to set up your handbrake: SmartControl. SmartControl allows for instant mapping of (non-linear) output curves, deadzone and handbrake force. These adjustments can be made without having to recalibrate the handbrake (including iRacing).

A key feature of SmartControl is the ability to set custom signal output map. Traditionally race simulator handbrake output has had a one-on-one sensitivity in relation to the handbrake input. SmartControl allows you to map non-linear output curves using 5 zones (six input parameters). This can be useful if you want your handbrake to be very aggressive (for example for drifting or tarmac rallies). Alternatively, you can set the initial output to be less sensitive when you expect the wheels to lock up easy (for example on dirt surfaces). All settings can be saved into profiles, which can be loaded again in a few mouse clicks.

    More information
This product is compatible with the PC / Windows platform. It cannot be used on consoles such as Xbox or Playstation.
The handbrake is pre-calibrated (plug-and-play). If you want to use SmartControl to recalibrate or adjust certain handbrake settings, you need to run Windows 10.
